Talkpoint has created this privacy statement to demonstrate our
firm commitment to Internet privacy. This document outlines the
information gathering and dissemination practices for talkpoint.org.

issue a password and convey critical information about the system to

Students supply a login name, gender, age (optionally), and
country of greatest cultural envolvement. This information will be
shared with the public, including teachers, partner classes and fellow
students. Users uncomfortable with releasing this information are
encouraged to refrain from using this site.
Additionally, teachers may request that students who enroll in
their class provide additional information such as a real name,
student number or email address. Talkpoint does not warrant how this
information is used. This additional information (if any) is between
student and teacher. For this reason, students should not join a
class run by an untrusted teacher.
Teachers are required to provide information such as real name,
school. In the future, this information may be optionally used to
allow teachers to find partner teachers around the globe.
The information gathered on this site will be used for academic
purposes and distrubted to a large audience. Users are responsible
for not including personally identifiable information in the free form
reponses as these responses will be made available to the pubilic at
some point in the future.
